My dog Gage is an almost 2 year old mixed breed (Mom was a chow chow/border collie mix and we suspect Dad was some sort of German Shepherd) dog.  We got him at 9 weeks of age and had no clue about puppies or all the excitement they could bring.  Gage ate the normal puppy things (socks, couch cushions, garbage, stuffed animals, etc.) but the list can go on to include:

•The actual couch (not just the cushions mind you - the legs, the back, the arms)

•Carpet (he put two holes in our carpet - one while being crated)

•Clothing (while still on the person) - he had a fondness for biting on to pant legs and ripping

•Our front door - mind you it was wooden - not aluminum thankfully.  The door would be open when he was on the porch and a screen door separated the rooms.  He chewed the door!

•Our stairway banister.

•The woodwork in our kitchen under the kitchen table (I thought he was just snoozing)

Thankfully this has been mostly eliminated with age, exercise, and a few other tricks up our sleeves!  He continues to have a love for cardboard boxes (with or without contents) and can have them shredded in minutes.  Additionally, Gage loves laundry time as he enjoys the fabric softener sheets if he can manage to grab one and run.  Lastly, we're still working on hair ties.  He hunts them down (usually when they are still in my hair) and will do a grab and dash whenever he gets the chance.

Oh what fun they can be!
