I adopted a nine month old pit bull female from our local shelter in Pueblo, CO four years ago this January. She's a doll in every way, except she's a thief! We had five dogs at the time and they all stay in the house at night on our ranch. My husband leaves his wallet on a lamp table by his recliner when he sits down to relax for the night. One morning we went out to feed the horses and found his wallet and all his credit cards, driver's license and such strewn about the lawn! Teeth marks in everything!

That wasn't the end of it! My husband should have learned his lesson but no, some months later he noticed his wallet was missing after spending the day before riding horseback through a lot of rough country gathering cattle on a neighbor's ranch. He never takes his wallet when he's riding since it's too easy to lose it. We turned the house upside down looking for the wallet and outside too. Then thinking he might have just stuck it in his pocket by habit, he organized a"posse" of all the riders from the day before to try to retrace his route which was extremely difficult given the rough mountain country. Alas, he came home with no wallet.

So, he cancelled his credit card, and we drove into town an hour away to get a duplicate of his drivers license and try to remember what else he had in there. When we got back to the ranch, I walked in first and there in the middle of the kitchen was Karlee, sitting all proud, with the wallet on the floor in front of her!!!! She actually had a smile on her face!! Well, I burst out laughing so hard I could hardly stand it but my husband didn't think it was that funny. Of course, being the heart-stealer she is, she was forgiven and my husband puts his wallet out of her reach now.

She is such an imp and we love her dearly!!
