My dog Woody, a terrier mixed-breed, ate a full gift-wrapped box of See’s Candy Bordeauxs two years ago. The gift was under the Christmas Tree for a week before he got to them, then one night we came home and there was wrapping paper everywhere. Naturally, we were nervous since he had ingested so much rich chocolate, but he never once showed any sign of indigestion or some life-threatening disorder as a result of his “snack.” I get the same gift every year from a close friend, only now it gets put up on a table, out of Woody’s reach.
