“Destruct-o-dog strikes again”, that is what my husband says when our dog Abbey misbehaves. She is a typical destructive chewing year and a half old beagle. She's so cute though as everyone says and my husband's response to that is you just don't know her. I agree with the other person who said they look cute in order to survive. Since we adopted her from a shelter when she was just a puppy she's destroyed numerous items.

We or I at least think and am hoping it's just going to be a puppy/young dog stage thing that she'll grow out of but so far no luck. Sometimes I wonder if it's separation anxiety or boredom. We started out keeping her kenneled when we weren't home and she shredded blankets and towels we put in there with her. So, we stopped putting those in with her.

When she got a bit older we tried leaving her loose in the house for short periods of time. However that stopped when we came home one time to find she had chewed a hole in the blinds and pulled a section down.

Well anyways, here's the list of things our Abbey has chewed on or destroyed:

  1. 1 slipper

  2. 2 blankets

  3. 3 towels

  4. 1 lawn watering tractor

  5. 1 lawn tractor ramp

  6. 1 rose bush

  9. 1 sock

  10. 1 pair of underwear

  11. 1 bra
