A few weeks ago I woke up to the sound of my dog vomiting...this is not an unusual occurrence. As I squatted next to his bed while he threw up, simultaneously trying to keep him off the carpet and clear the sleep out of my eyes Jameson, my chocolate lab mix, managed to throw up something that was originally dark green and appeared to be cylindrical. Here I am on my knees and far too close to vomit that early in the morning when all of the sudden it 'pops' open! As I stare at it in my sleepy stupor I realize that it is a kitchen sponge, green scrubby side out. Not just any kitchen sponge, my MISSING kitchen sponge which had disappeared a week earlier. He ran, played, and ate like a normal dog for a week with a sponge in his stomach. How on earth could that have been comfortable and/or not made him ridiculously ill? Jameson is not necessarily bad or destructive, just, apparently, incredibly stupid.
