Our alarm company will not install motion sensors in the house because he is too big and would set them off.  We had to buy special detectors to make sure the house was covered and of course, pay more for them.  Even though the sheer size of him would probably scare any stranger off.

He has managed to put scratches in my 30 year warranty laminate flooring, scratches on the sliding glass doors and plenty of tongue prints on the front screen door.  We have hair everywhere as he doesn’t shed, he molts.  Do we still love him as part of the family, you bet.  He is nothing but a 135 pound baby.

As he grew, he never did realize how big he was and managed to pull a 32” TV off our entertainment center, crashing it to the floor and breaking the tube.  Yes he pulled it off the entertainment center.    Also during his puppy years, he would go “crazy” running around the house.  He slide across the kitchen floor right into the kitchen cabinet, cracking the cabinet in half.  In the same month, he was playing with my husband when they both jumped for the bed.  No, he didn’t break the bed, worse yet.  He and my husband’s head collided, breaking my husband’s nose.

Well, it’s not so much what he ate but he has cost us quite a bit.  Max is a lab/retriever mix but very large for his breed (135 pounds).  In the puppy years, Max chewed the arms off my “This End Up” chair.  He also broke a tooth trying to chew a rock.  This tooth had to be extracted at a whooping vet bill over $400.
