Wolfdogs are naturally destructive, and a puppy despite being 85 lbs is twice as bad! Things started shortly after Shadow finally got settled and accustomed to being away from his brothers. I've had him for 4 months now and this is just a short list of things that have been anhilated or broken.

  1. -Midnight loved stuffed toys and had quite a collection - Shadow de-stuffed and removed the squeeker from about 20 toys. Soft rubber toys and tennis balls never fair any better.

  2. -The plastic crate I had for him to housebreak him with had a hole chewed completely through, enough for him to escape within days.

  3. -Both my couch and recliner have broken spings (thankfully no tears but) so now all my furniture pokes and buldges from the two wrestling on them

- THE WORST - Shadow loves to dig, especially if I shut him out of the room I'm in - so one night I didn't fasten both clasps on his cage and next thing I know Im getting woken up by the sound of carpet and the underlying tape being torn up in HUGE chunks (parts of it being eaten) all so he can get into the bedroom and bathroom areas

So not only is he destructive, hes an escape artist!

  1. -Hes ruined the carpet from pee and poop spots too, apparently cleaners don't work for wolf poop!

  2. -TV cables, lamp cords and phone chargers have been chewed to bits

  3. -chewed up the plastic tray in his cage, then the tarp I put underneath to protect the carpet

  4. -newspapers, boxes, mail, school work

  5. -Hes chewed up 4 Nylon harness/collars, 2 leather leashes and 3 of Midnights collars when they are on him

  6. -oh! he knocked over a science lab kit from my kitchen table shattering 20 test tubes, 5 beakers, 4 petri dishes and other glass items

And daily to top it all off, he tries to chew on Midnight all the time.

These are the things that I can think of off the top of my head, I'm sure there is more that hes destroyed over the past 4 months - for that he should be in the most wanted and given a medal for the fastest destruction. Sadly, I know he won't grow out of it because of the wolf in him.

Maybe I'll send in a second installment a few months down the road with what else hes destroyed!

Heather, Midnight and Shadow

First off I've got two monsters - Midnight: a 2.5 year old Blue Heeler/Lab mix and Shadow: an 8 month old Black Wolf/German Shepherd hybrid. Midnight's only destruction is the odd garbage knockover or item of food left on the countertop.

So that being said, this is Shadow's story.

Where to start!
