9 months later we got Ruger. A wild bundle of joy.... No manners, no house training, No Joke!  Well this is the third dog we brought home and the first Jersey would let in the house.  So we thought... heck we can teach him...  He is so birdy.  Loves birds ... almost above food!  The first night.... ate my glasses!  300.00 later .... He has also ate every corner of every pillow in the entire house.  I have no clue why he would do such a thing!!

Anyways, we crate our puppies when at work. We had to... they are not to be trusted!  Ruger has trashed every crate pillow we buy. Stuffing, zippers and covers eaten or just pieces. At 25-50 dollar a pop.... he now has a blanket.  He must love it.  It's still in one piece!   So,  I felt guilty they were locked up in the crates all day and I hired Lisa my neighbor to come let them out during the day for a potty break.  She calls me at work almost every day!  The first few calls were.... Jersey is chasing and biting Ruger... Lisa hasn't had puppies in a while.  I told her not to worry unless blood was shed.

Last week she calls me.... Ruger ate a bird!  She was almost hysterical ... I asked if he caught it or was it a dead one he picked up?  You know, you never know what kind of diseases they will have.  She thought it was already dead.  So I call my husband at work sort of worried... he said old iron stomack can handle a bird.  And he did!!  I wouldn't let him give doggy kisses for at least a week.

We have two small pre-formed ponds, about 200 gallons, that had been waiting to get put in for almost three years... Yes, it wasn't a priority..LOL  So one weekend I decide this is our project for the week.... I knew the dogs were going to be curious... they are that kind of dog!  We dug the holes, put the ponds in and back filled.  Jers and Roo licked the water.... okay no biggy...   We did some landscaping around the ponds gave it a waterfall.... still a bit of drinking the water... so we start telling them "NO" .  Now let me just say Jersey is a people dog... she wants her people with her every minute.  Ruger could care less as long as there are birds to chase!  Jersey will grab your shorts so you can't leave the yard...lol!!!  Not long after the ponds went in I put them out while I vacuumed the livingroom. Jersey did not like this.  I look out the window to Jersey in the pond area.  I yell out NO!  She moves.  I see Roo in the back yard chewing on something..... ugggggghhhhh  So I grab my shoes and hussle out the door.  I start out to Roo and here he is eatting my floating pond plants!  I stop and look around ...... and there are over 50 plants torn to shreds covering most of my back yard.  Now, Ruger is no angel... but I have to say this kind of devious behavior sounds so like Jersey.  I look, don't see her.... hmmmmmm   I walk over to the pond... hmmmm there is a wet dog lying in the middle of the pond eatting pond plants .. I am so mad I start laughing!!  What are you going to do?  I live in town!  My neighbors already think I am a mad woman!  My husband is flying out of the house and stares... he is saying "Jersey ... you are in soooo much trouble"... then cracks up laughing.  We clean up the back yard and put a small white fence around the pond... does it work?  Most of the time!  But Jersey gets her wish... I bought a nice big comfy swing and now we are in the back yard as much as they are!!

I would not give up these two rescue dogs for anything... they have brought frustration, laughter and love into our lives...

Okay, I can't out do Queeny & King..... but let me tell you about Jersey & Ruger.  Jersey is a 2 yr old German Wirehair Pointer. Ruger is a 1.5 yr old English Pointer, very birdy, as you will hear later. As hunting dogs they are high energy.. I understand this.  They get two walks a day. 5:30 every morning before work and 7-8 pm each night after dinner.  I even pay someone to come in around lunch time to let them out in the back yard each day so they will get to go to the bathroom and stretch their legs.

Jersey is a lovable girl.  When we first got her in June of 2007 she ate a hole in the carpet.... of the dinning room and bedroom... to the wood floor.  She ate the cord to the 400.00 vacuum.  Hmmm not to bad huh?  Just puppy antics! I did have to get rid of the guinea pigs I rescued... she was pouncing on the cages!  I was so afraid she would eat them!
