First off, my dog Sparty is a white German Shepard / Husky mix. He is my baby!!! Ask my boyfriend and he will tell you that the dog sometimes gets more attention than him! I adopted him about 3 years ago when he was about 6 months old. I was his 3rd owner….the poor guy has some serious issues…he was on doggie Prozac for a few years to help with his separation anxiety! I have finally weaned him off that about a year ago when he stopped eating things! He is a great dog for me…but he is still scared of certain people and don’t try to pet his head….he just won’t let anyone really but me.

I don’t even know where to start the list…..I can’t even count how many shoes, purses, a suede jacket (I was not in a good mood after that one…),  the kitchen table….all the legs and the edge so every time you brushed by it you got a splinter (thank god it was IKEA) and the 6 chairs that went with the table, blinds, destroyed 2 couch’s, his own dog bead, his plastic gate thing I would put him in during the day (no longer needed), dug 2 holes in the middle of the carpet…the padding and down to the foundation – how a dog could just dig a hole in the middle of a room through all the carpet and padding still shocks me!

I love my guy through it all….people ask me why I keep him with all the trouble…he has health problems too…but it is so worth it!! The love he gives me and the wagging tail when I get home from work everyday is just priceless to me! Thanks for letting me share my stories !

(Apparently, mighty Sparty’s stories didn’t end there.  I received This second email from theresa soon after )

Oh, wait.... There’s one More story about sparty you have to hear….

One day the cat decided to knock the bottle of doggie Prozac off the counter and play with it! Somehow it ended up in the dog’s mouth and he ate like 20 pills while I was at work. I came home and noticed that he was acting really weird and just whining and whimpering….I noticed what he ate and called the vet as I was driving there! They could not even pump his stomach cause the effects had already taken effect! SO, he had to stay overnight on an ivy to try to flush it out of his system. He came home the next night and needless to say the doggie Prozac was inside a cabinet after. The vet had said that if he had eaten a few more pills he would have been dead….so he used one of his lives that day! I still say to this day that the cat gave him one of his.
