Then I got a German Short-haired Pointer puppy for my husband.
Then one day I left his four month old German Short-haired Pointer puppy alone in my luxury 1964 metallic green Thunderbird with the white leather interior and every luxury option that was available at the time for 20 minutes while I got groceries.
An announcement came over the loudspeaker in the store. "Whoever 1964 metallic green Thunderbird with the white leather interior better go out AND SAVE THE REST OF IT!"
She had shredded the interior of the car! Headliner, seats and seat backs, side panels. There wasn't a piece of white leather left that was big enough to make a GLOVE out of!
It was one of those situations that you just chose to ignore for the moment. I went home, showed the car to my husband and told him I wanted it gone by morning, never to be seen again, and went to bed with a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream.
I never did see my absolutely gorgeous 1964 metallic green Thunderbird with a white leather interior and every luxury option that was available at the time but I haven't stopped thinking of it to this day.
p.s. We kept that rotten bitch of a dog for 14 years even though she continued to destroy vehicles and other expensive articles on a regular basis! We loved her so.
